Buy This Album

The Cure's classic - remastered with the addition of live material from Wembley and some interesting outtakes. Growney and I saw the Disintegration Tour at Oakland Arena in 1989. I remember them playing "Three Imaginary Boys" and trying to explain the significance of such a thing to Tom.
We couldn't handle BART and I ended up leaving TG looking confused at Coliseum Station.  Long story.  Review from Pitchfork here.

  1. I want to to hear the sad details. I'll put my broken foot and cigarette butt in the neck up against your story!

  2. Grew up in Buffalo on Doral Court, my neighbor was Bobby Talente. Bobby used to get beat up a lot, probably due to the fact that he was always practicing his nunchucks out in the driveway. But that's not the point. Bobby and his nunchucks moved to Pittsburgh before high school (let's say 1985) and my family and I moved to Columbus in 1989. I saw the Disintegration tour at an arena in Dayton, OH with my friend Caroline. In the halls of the arena someone stopped me and said hi Matt. It was a completely unrecognizable Bobby Talente, who now looked much more like Porl Thompson, than 'ol Bobby Nunchucks.
